HD 4400 EU count

$
0
0

According to almost all sources I could find, all GT2 products (HD4200, HD4400, HD4600) have 20 EUs.

However, on a i3-4130 (HD4400), GPU-Z (latest version) indicates 16 EUs. GPU Caps Viewer says 16 EUs and 12(!) OpenCL cores. Luxmark also says 12 OpenCL cores.

For i7-4790T (HD4600), all three indicate 20 EU/Cores as expected.

This document (http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/guides/performance-xeon-e3-1200-hd-graphics-p4000-guide.pdf) on page 2 seems to imply that indeed HD4400 has only 16 EUs.

This document (https://01.org/linuxgraphics/sites/default/files/documentation/intel-gfx-prm-osrc-hsw-configurations.pdf) besides the expected GT3=40, GT2=20, GT1=10 EU also mentions a certain GT1.5 with 12 EUs (page 8)

This review (Intel Core i3-4340, Core i3-4330 and Core i3-4130 Review. Page 8 - X-bit labs) seems to indicate performance differences between HD4400 and HD4600 consistent with 4 missing EUs in HD4400.

Please help me bring some light in this issue. A link to an official Intel document stating unambiguosly the amount of EUs present on HD4400 and HD4200 would be great. I haven't been able to find such a document.

Thank you.

OpenGL regression after updating to 15.36.3.64.3907

Hi!

I just updated to the latest Intel HD drivers 15.36.3.64.3907, and while mostly I've seen performance increases and overall less glitches (at least with D3D), I just found a clear regression with OpenGL support.

An open source program called Dolphin (found at https://dolphin-emu.org) supports both D3D and OpenGL backends on Windows systems. While D3D runs fine for me, I've tested the OpenGL support every now and then. And OpenGL worked just fine with previous stable drivers (May 2014). Now with latest drivers I don't get any video output when OpenGL is selected, only audio plays fine (i.e. program itself is running fine). Just a black screen.

The program is mainly used for emulation, but it runs also "homebrew" programs/games that can be found at wiibrew.org . These free programs can also be used for debugging in this case.

I only tested one other OpenGL based software, which seemed to work, so this isn't a total breakage of OpenGL (it would have been noticed before, I know )

I'm really excited that you've added OpenGL 4.3 support and the drivers are clearly evolving, and setbacks like this are inevitable. This still suggests some kind of incompatibility with the OpenGL drivers, and I would highly appreciate if some of the developers looked into this. Are there any other known incompatibilities that are being worked on..?

Aspect ratio (keep proportions) issue, Intel Core i5 integrated graphics

Hello there!

I've bought some new PC recently, and currently have problems setting up graphics driver.

The system works pretty well @ native 1920*1080 widescreen, however whenever I switch it to non-16:9 resolution, it tries to upscale the image, breaking aspect ratio in the process. Say, any 640:480 (4:3) becomes wide and disproportional. What I want, is to always keep proportions regardless of resolution.

So, I checked the utility that came along with graphics driver and couldnt find there such an option (resolution 1920*1080). Then I switched desktop's resolution to 1280*1024 (5:4) and indeed, there it was (lightened "Сохранить пропорции" in Russian is "Keep proportions" or kind of). The problem is, this setting is reset every time resolution is changed, and the default one is "make everything look fat and weird on your big widescreen", which is not really smart, or I'd say, Intelligent, on the part of Intel .

Now here is how it works for me: I boot the PC into native desktop resolution 1920*1080. Run any non-16:9 game, like fallout2 or starcraft1 (2d engine @ 640*480 and can't be changed without violationg eula or anticheat system, but that's not the point), it scales to all screen. I change it to "keep proportions" via hot-keys, and everything is fine until I decide to alt-tab back to desktop and go back, because it first changes to 1920*1080, and then back to 640*480 with proportions broken again. Basically, I have to ctrl-alt-f11 three times every time I alt-tab.

Before that, I've been using ATI graphics for 12 years (from radeon 9xxx to HD6xxx) and there always been similar option which worked and didn't reset. Is this a driver, or utility, or maybe monitor issue? 3 screenshots are added with technical information.

I am sorry if my English isn't good enough, but hopefully someone can understand what's up and suggest me a solution. Thank you.

Intel HD Graphics 4000 and The Sims 2

Hi!

I have a problem with the game The Sims 2. When I had Windows 8, the game worked fine, but I updated to Windows 8.1 and I had to update the Intel HD Graphics 4000 drivers too because the game didn't work anymore. And now there's a black rectangle under the sims feet:

http://thumbs2.modthesims2.com/img/6/7/8/3/5/1/3/MTS_00harris00-1390662-Screenshot.jpg

That black rectangle is supposed to be the shadow. If I set it to "medium", the rectangle goes away, but there's no shadow either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Help please, what has happened to my laptop?

I have a Dell laptop, 32 bit with an Intel Pentium processor and Vista Home Basic.  About a fortnight ago Microsoft sent a bundle of updates of which one seems to have changed the appearance of my screen contents by making them look miniaturised.  When I checked I discovered that something called Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for mobile has seemingly taken over my machine. My desktop and emails all have the appearance as on a mobile and are much too small.  I have tried using System Restore but the date that I would need has dropped off the hard disc. Microsoft, so called support, tell me that a laptop would not accept a download for a mobile - but mine has!  Please can anybody advise what I can do about this, as I really find it intolerable to work with?

Hello,

I am going to try that new Windows 10 Technical Preview on my Inspiron 15z 5523.

Will those Intel HD Graphics drivers "10.18.10.3277" and the newer ones and the Intel Rapid Storage Technology and Rapid Start Technology and the other Intel drivers that work with Windows 8.1 work on Windows 10 Technical Preview?

Intel Graphics Driver causing Blue Screen (BSOD)

Today while I was playing Skyrim my game froze and then it blue screened (computer crashed). I went to the action center and then it told me that this problem was fixed in a certain update then it gave me a link. I clicked the link and then a download started which was the graphics driver. I tried to double click it then nothing happened. I tried to right click it and then click open and ounce again nothing happened. Finally I right clicked it and opened it as administrator and it said: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software." I'm not sure why this problem is occurring since the windows action center told me to do it this way. Anyways here are the pictures of whats happening.

The action center window:

Graphics Control Panel Right-Click Menu causes Windows Explorer Memory Leak!

$

Hello,

As you see in the video,

Everytime I right-Click with mouse the memory Usage for Windows Explorer increases. This is caused by either the Intel Graphics Control Panel or the NVIDIA Control Panel Context menu, but I disable the NVIDIA Control Panel context menu and the issue goes. But I would like to keep both the Intel and NVIDIA Right-Click context menu without having this memory leak issue..

So is there a fix to this please?

By the way, this is NVIDIA GT 630M version 340.52 and Intel version 10.18.10.3621

Can't switch to external monitor anymore

$

I'm running Windows XP on an older Siemens-Fujitsu Esprimo Mobile 6535 laptop (native res. 1200x800) with a Mobile Intel® GMA 4500M graphics chip.

I need to connect it daily to an Acer 2216W monitor (native res. 1650x1050) via VGA cable (there's no digital-out on the laptop). It never worked instantly, but after a few tries it usually did, for several years.

Lately, the problem got worse and worse. Last week I spent nearly half an hour pressing Fn-F10 again and again before I had a picture on the monitor. Every time I try to switch displays, the monitor flickers once before going black again.

The funny thing is, when I set the secondary display to the Acer's 1650x1050 resolution and switch back and forth, the monitor flickers, goes black and the laptop switches to a 1650 resolution.

In the Windows system display I find five nondespript monitors. A free tool (EDID Viewer) to read monitor settings from the Windows registry shows nine, one of which should be the laptop display.

I've updated the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver yesterday, to no effect. The new version properly identifies the Acer monitor, but that's it.

What's wrong here?

Intel HD 5000 : glEnableVertexAttribArrayARB via GLEW does not work

$
0
0

I've just moved to the new Mac Air with HD 5000, and found the code I am developing in C++/OpenGL no longer renders normal mapped 3D geometry using pixel shaders.

It makes use of glEnableVertexAttribArrayARB to supply a tangent to the pixel shader pipeline. This process works perfectly well on nVidia and ATI graphic cards, and still works (as is) on my old Mac Air with nVidia 320M

The result is the model geometry is rendering as a corrupted model, in a spherical arrangement with a radius of 1.0

I can achieve the same results on the nVidia / ATI cards by using the same pixel shader, but by failing to provide the tangent data it expects - this results in the same corruption when rendering.

So - it seems on HD 5000, the driver is not honouring GLEW's glEnableVertexAttribArrayARB extension. Has it been remapped for the HD5000, or is there another way to bind to this functionality?

Note. I am not using OpenGL 4.0 - my code needs to support OpenGL 2.1, and has worked flawlessly so far on many other devices and GPU's. no

Thanks in advance!

So I reaserched it more and i went to win. update to update my drivers and stuff and i dunno how but it actually worked. So I was pretty happy, but then like a month passed and dat happend again and i was like no biggy, ima just update my drivers and everything's gonna be fine, BUT NO lol. So I was like relly woried so I went to a store dat I bought it from and well it was in their shop for about like 2 and a half weeks i think. So I thought they gotto solve that problem, BUT NO ! They didn't. And I reshearched it more, and moreeeee and I found out dat many people have this problem and I thought it was pretty weird bcs the dudes at the shop fixed like my motherboard but that didnt fix the actual problem ( i didnt even know my motherborad was broken lol ).So I found out dat I gotto update my drivers, now I dunno how this helped ( it barely helped but help is still a help ), but i update my graphics driver and it got my fps up by 5 but i was still sad bcs on samp i almost had no mods no enb's and my fps was low . So one day I was in my control panel and I found out I dont have any updates for this 3d video controler, but I didnt know what dat is. HD4600 resolution problem with HP LA2405x monitor

$

So, this monitor is capable of 1920x1200, and indeed older Intel chipsets drive it just fine over VGA.

This chipset (inside a Dell E6540 laptop) will not recognize the resolution above 1920x1080.

Using the custom resolution app leads to a message "The custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity."

Running the system info utility shows me that the mode is supported by the monitor. But notice the order of resolutions. This looks like a bug in the intel mode detection, possibly shared between both utilities.

Is there a fix or workaround for this?:

Celeron J1900 HDMI output color space setting missing?

$

Hi all,

I have recently built an HTPC using the Asrock Q1900B-ITX but when I connect the box to my Samsung TV I realised that the color is way off comparing with my previous Dell laptop (which uses a SP9600 cpu and 4500MHD graphic connected via DisplayPort). Everything just looks darker and less natural. Some people suggest that it might due to the different color space that HDMI and DisplayPort use by default. I am trying to force the color space change in Intel HD graphic control panel but the 'YCBCR' checkbox is missing from the advance color options.

I am running Windows 7 Pro 64bit and using the this driver - Intel® Download Center.

HD P4600 Rebooting

I have just assembled a Supermicro C226 board with an E3-1275v3 and absolutely everything works perfectly... as long as I don't install the P4600 drivers. I used both the manufacturer supplied driver and the latest download from Intel. As soon as the system boots to the desktop, it restarts- infinitely. If I delete the driver and set the display to the standard VGA at 1920X1080, everything works great. Could this be a CPU issue or something else entirely?
