Problems with the Intel Q965/Q963 Chipset Graphics - Random Reboot

$

Hi there

I am new to the forums that I want to address an issue regarding the Intel Q965/Q963 Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1) on my Lenovo ThinkCentre M55p. The problem with the driver I tried to reinstall was it causes many random reboots and there is no BSOD reporting it on Event Viewer. However, I checked it is Event 41 and has no problems for months. It's not the power supply or something, it's this.

The PC originally ran Windows XP, Vista, and 7. And now I am running Windows 8 64-bit. Could anyone give a solution how to prevent the random restarts caused by a graphics driver?

Driver issue. Had a yellow mark and deleted it however I can't download a Intel HD graphic.

Updating HD Graphics 3000 - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

I have:

AMD Radeon HD 6630M version 8.862.4.4000

Intel HD Graphics 3000 version 8.862.4.4000

Since Day One, I have had a problem with the AMD display driver that stops responding when using Adobe Creative Suites CS5

AMD display driver stopped.png

A possible solution is to update the video drivers.

I have found an update for the AMD but need to update the Intel HD 3000 with a version suitable for my computer.

How do I find the one right for my machine?

Issues creating custom resolution since Windows 10 (Timing Standard option missing)- Intel HD 5000 on Surface Pro 3

$

Hi all,

I have a Surface Pro 3 with Intel HD 5000 and a Dell P2715Q external 4K monitor. I have recently upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 (full release, not beta).

In order to use 4K resolution (3640x2160 @ 50Hz) in Windows 8.1, I previously had to install the stock Intel driver (overwriting the Microsoft provided driver for the Surface Pro 3) for the graphics card to allow me to access the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel and to create a Custom Resolution as per the instructions in this guide from the Dell forums:

A custom resolution is required to make this monitor work at 4k.

  1. Right-click on the desktop -> Graphics Properties (Intel)
  2. Display
  3. Click on "Display" by the back arrow and select "Custom Resolutions"
  4. Select Display : DELL P2715Q
  5. If the "Custom Resolutions List" is empty, add the following resolution:
  6. 3840 x 2160, 32 Bit, 50p Hz, Timing Standard CVT-RB
  • Go to the normal Windows Screen Resolution dialog (Right Click on Desktop -> Screen resolution)
  • Select the Dell monitor
  • Click "Advanced settings"
  • Go to the "Monitor Tab"
  • Uncheck "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display"
  • You should now be able to select the 50Hz 4k resolution and apply it.  Windows will remember these settings, so you shouldn't have to do this again.

This approach worked just fine in Windows 8. However since upgrading to Windows 10, I have lost the Custom Resolution (and also needed to reinstall the latest Intel HD 5000 Graphics driver Version: 15.40.4.64.4256 for Windows 10 to regain the Intel Graphics Control Panel).

Now when I launch the Intel Graphics Control Panel on Windows 10 and navigate to Custom Resolutions for the external Dell monitor, I only see the Width, Height, Refresh Rate and Underscan Percentage options. The option for Timing Standard is no longer visible (however the Help still suggests it should be there!). Without the Timing Standard option being changeable I cannot set a working custom resolution.

Trying to set 3640 x 2160 @ 50Hz results in the error "The custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity" as seen below. I believe this is occurring because I can no longer change the Timing Option from the default value (notice the absence of an option for this in the Windows 10 control panel version GUI)??

I look forward to receiving your thoughts. Please help me get my custom 4K resolution back!!

How to find out how much RAM the HD 4600 is using?

$

Hi,

It feels like a stupid question, but how can I find how much RAM my HD 4600 is using? From my understanding, allocated memory is dynamic (dxdiag shows 4166 MB of memory, but thankfully it's not using it all) and I would like to be able to know how much is actually allocated for the iGPU at a given time. I have 8 GB of RAM and sometimes while playing GTA V (on the GTX 880M this optimus laptop has) I get that infamous popup where Windows complains about memory usage, yet I usually have around 1 GB free in the task manager. It's really painful as the game usually crashes from this.

Thanks for your suggestions

How do you convert from Windows Basic Display Drivers to Intel?

I just got Windows 10, and I was going to use a program, but it said that I needed to replace the display driver. I had Intel, but the instructions said to delete it and wait for the zip file so you can reinstall it. Well, it didn't come, and now I'm stuck with Windows Basic. I downloaded a the driver zip file from the internet, but it doesn't work.

Core M lagging on videoplayback

I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 11" (core m 5y71, 8gb RAM, intel 5300 graphics, 256gb ssd) running win 10 (the issue happened on win8 and 8.1 also).

Everytime I try watching videos, streaming online or with video players I end up with a lot of lagging in the video after some time.

After a lot of research on the computer and on the internet I realized that the lagging starts when the PC puts two of the four CPU threads as "parked".

I would like to know if there is a way to change the settings in order to avoid this CPU parking situtation.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Windows 10 driver crash

Hi people,

I've updated to Windows 10 and have been getting intermittent display driver crashes.  The display driver appears to hiccup, pause for perhaps a second or so, then recover and continue as if nothing had happened.  I might not have noticed if not for the helpful message from Windows 10 letting me know that the driver crashed.  Oddly though, that message (appearing for a couple seconds and vanishing) always says it is a Windows 8 driver that has crashed.  My computer is upgraded from windows 8.1 but is now Windows 10.

Thinking that a new driver from Intel might solve the problem - i downloaded and installed the latest, dated 8/12/15.  The problem however persisted.

My computer has the Intel i7-4700MQ (its a laptop), 16 gigabytes of memory and the HD 4600 Intel graphics adapter. No additional graphics adapters from other companies are onboard.

Hi,

I'm using a Dell E5450 with i5-5300U. When connecting my notebook per HDMI, it displays an "Intel Display-Audio" device which seems to send audio data to the receiving device (green bars on the right indicate audio playback), but no sound can be heard.

I'm using Windows 10 x64 with 10.18.15.4256 Drivers.

How can I make it work?

In an ongoing effort to resolve HDMI display detection some users are experiencing, we are releasing a set of test drivers for Sandybridge, Ivybridge, Haswell, and Broadwell based graphics to gather feedback from the Intel Communities on resolving these issues. Some users have been able to resolve this issue by changing the display cable however, this may not solve the issue in all cases. These test drivers provide another option to address this issue.

These test drivers are exactly that, test drivers, and only for testing the HDMI display detection issues. Please be aware that these drivers should not be used on mission critical systems and that we recommend a restore point be created on your system before installing these test drivers.

These test drivers can be installed by extracting the zip file and running the setup.exe file or by using the "Have Disk" method to install.

According to the license agreement, these test drivers are provided "as is" and are not supported by Intel Technical Support or any other department at Intel.

I recently purchased a Lenovo Z50-70 with  Intel HD4400 Graphics.

I seem to be facing an issue where the display quality is poor/pixelated.

I have tried reloading the system, updating drivers ect but still have the same outcome.

Are there any config settings I can run? Also using Windows 8.1 fully updated.
