How to disable "Display Power Saving Technology" for the plugged in laptop?

$

Hello!:) Read several treads. Quite a few people have this issue, however couldn't find a solution to my one.

I turned it off in the Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel. While the laptop is running on battery, its fine. But the Display Power Saving Technology starts working again once the laptop is plugged in (I don't have an option in the Intel control panel to switch between battery and plugged-in modes). I updated drivers (used windows device manager, because the Intel(R) Driver Update Utility was not able to do so). Here is my info:

HD6000 3D Blu ray performance issue

Using PowerDVD 15 I am seeing inconsistent playback of 3D blu ray. When I start a 3D movie (TV is a Vizio M801D-A3; 1080p/24Hz; frame-packing), the image may distort frequently and cause an image that appears to almost look like its viewed underwater. Depth of the image is also incorrect for seemingly random parts of the image. If I then pause the movie for a few seconds, or back up to the beginning of the chapter, the issue so far resolves itself, but sometimes it takes a few tries to do so.

This seems like a driver bug. I did not have this issue using PowerDVD 15 with Nvidia graphics on my previous build. Attached is my Intel system profile and dxdiag report if that helps. I'd appreciate any assistance.

I have an eMachines e525 laptop which has an Intel Celeron 900 processor, and have recently updated from Windows 7 to windows 10.

Prior to the Windows 10 upgrade, I had the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel in my system tray icons, but now it is missing, which is causing me problems.

Is it possible to install this on windows 10?

Alguém pode me auxiliar?

Grato.

[9024844] Custom resolution not working

$

I emailed Intel Customer Support Service and they refer me to this forum because the agent say it will have the correct exposure to intel engineering department. (request # 8001214860)

The problem is Intel Graphics driver for HD 4600 (and presumably others too) have a broken custom resolution for Built in LCD. No matter what setting you put into it, it will always custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity.

I tested it on many different laptop with eDP (embedded displayport) like Alienware 17, Asus G751JM, Asus Q551LN, Lenovo Y50-70, Razer Blade 14, MSI GT60 Dominator Pro, and Gigabyte P34 and they all say custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity.

To establish the fact that bandwidth is not the problem, I tried creating a custom resolution at native res (1920x1080) at 59Hz (default is 60Hz) and it says custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity. To test it further I downscale the resolution to 1600x900 @ 59Hz and it still gives the error so I conclude the problem is with the driver itself.

I tried the oldest and newest driver from the OEM and the one on Intel website and they are all broken.

The problem is NOT ISOLATED on a laptop model or a manufacturer but the Intel Graphics driver itself.

In fact if you verify the problem by testing it on ANY laptop that has an Intel graphics and try to create a custom resolution that is 1Hz less than native (like 59Hz) and it will give you the same error.

So why does it matter? Almost every single gaming laptop that is being released are NVIDIA Optimus Enabled (Hybrid Graphics where Intel Graphics is handling the display) and it prevents people from changing the refresh rate of the display. As an example the LCD panel found on Asus G751JM-BHI7T25 uses LG LP156WF4 SPL1 which is the exact same panel found on Asus G751JY that comes at 75Hz by default, but we cannot change the refresh rate due to broken Intel Custom Resolution even though the LCD panel itself is more than capable to handle it.

Refresh rate is a huge feature as evident on monitors getting released (like BenQ XL2430T, Asus ROG Swift, Acer Predator, etc...) and if you ask any gamer that has tried a high refresh rate monitor they will tell you how much big of a difference it is and because of this issue, any gaming laptop that has Hybrid graphics (Intel Graphics enabled) is a HUGE deal breaker.

[Edit by Bryce@Intel]: Changed title to reflect investigation bug# and title.

Old title: Intel driver is completely broken (custom resolution)

I am aware that what I'm asking is most likely a no, especially with a totally different card manufacturer. But can I upgrade to another intel card so my kids can play the newest games such as Tomb Raider (daughter's request) or The Witcher 3 (son's request)?

With the current 4000 gpu these games are completely unplayable.

Intel HD Graphics 530 external monitor issue

Hi I just purchased a new laptop and am having issues playing movies through the Windows 10 - Movies & TV app on an external monitor.  I can hear the audio but the video is just a black screen.  I have tried 3 movies with all the same result but I can play the movie trailers with no problem.  I have tried updating the 530 drivers, rolling back the driver and installing old drivers with no success.  When I disable the 530 graphics and use the Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card the movies will play normally (but the laptop display lights up in a distorted pattern).  When I clone the display, the 530 will play the movie fine on the laptop display while still having a black screen on the external display.  The monitor is an LG 29UM67P connected by a displayport cable (HDMI cable produces the same result).  The specs of the laptop below.

For this reason, I can not use my video printer to print the scans. Only Netbook and Monitor appears, before there was TV and Monitor. Can anybody help me? Thank you very much.-

EDIT: The video printer is conect to Video Out.

And I installed windows 8.1 Driver , but there is problem in this driver , That my computer is not shutting down and also not hibernating .

And when I installed the video Driver after that my Windows is running good, and shutting down and hibernating as well.

This is link of HP drivers webpage, and in the list there is no windows 10 option.

Drivers & Software for HP EliteBook 8460p Notebook PC - HP Support Center.

And this is the link of Intel downloads page , and for this processor there is no video driver for windows 10.

Downloads for Intel(R) Core™ i5-2520M Processor (3M Cache, up to 3.20 GHz)

So from where I shall obtain Video Driver , or I downgrade windows 10 to windows 8.1?

Intel NUC Win7 Media Center (No extenders involved) H.264 DRM video missing

Hello,

This is a follow up to a previous thread on the same issue that got somewhat sidetracked without a resolution for the issue at hand.

I have an NUC6I5SYH, running Windows 7 Media Center, using a SiliconDust HDHomerun Prime with a cable card from Comcast. The NUC is connected to my TV. In my area, Comcast delivers a lot of channels in H.264 instead of MPEG2 as before. Now some of these are DRM'd such as HBOHD. When playing these using Media Center, I get audio but no video (just a blank screen). I have a fully updated OS including the latest drivers from Intel. To be clear this issue is not about Media Center extenders.

Here is a combination of what works and what does not work:

  • MPEG2 --------------> works
  • MPEG2 + DRM -----> works
  • H.264 ----------------> works
  • H.264 + DRM -------> does not work (no video, blank screen)

In the previous thread it was concluded that the issue was not due to Intel graphics. However external community threads on this issue have concluded that on a system exhibiting this behavior, using a non Intel Graphics card fixes the issue. See No pictures with some channels - Page 3 - Silicondust.

Unfortunately this is not a solution on a NUC and clearly indicates the issue lies with Intel Graphics and not anywhere else. Can Intel please re-evaluate this and see what is going on here? How can I help to debug/isolate the problem?

Thanks.

I have an Asus UX501J that use Intel HD Graphics 4600. Usually I connect 2 extra monitors. Today I came back to my computer and all displays was in chaos. My main screen was in 4K duplicated with some other screen that do not exist. In total my driver is telling me I have 7 monitors. See my screen dump. No use to update the driver. This is the latest. 2017-01-26 (2).png

Feature Request - implement EDID override

Hello,

it would be nice if the Intel Graphics driver would support overriding EDID information like described in this document from Microsoft:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/gg487330

Why is this needed?

In a common HTPC (multimedia PC) setup with a PC, AVR (audio video receiver) and a television, the EDID information stored in the receiver & television that is passed to the PC determines the video and audio capabilities like: supported resolutions, supported audio formats etc ..

The problem is that very often the system only "sees" the EDID information of the television, and not that of the receiver, and so you don't get support for audio formats like DTS, DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD that are supported by the receiver ...

The latest Sandy bridge CPU and corresponding chipset support all these sound standards, but they often not useable cause of these EDID problems.

Actually it really does not matter what video card / integrated graphics you use, NVidia and AMD graphics have the same problem, but their drivers

allows people to override the EDID information like is described in the above linked document from Microsoft.

Please implement this stuff, shouldn't be that hard to do, for one of you senior driver programmers it's probably just a few hours of work ...

Thank you

Christian

Coil Whine in Asus Laptop from intel HD graphics 530

Hello to everyone!

This is my first topic on this forum, and I expect you can help me with this annoying problem that has been disturbing me for some days.

Recently, I bought an ASUS R510V laptop with freeDOS as OS, 8 GB RAM, intel i7 6700HQ, GTX 950M as dedicated GPU, and intel HD graphics 530 as integrated GPU.

About 2 weeks after installing Windows 10 and Ubuntu 14 I realized that, sometimes, a high-pitched noise came from inside the laptop (hear the noise). Surfing the internet I came to the conclusion that is coil whine, and I think its origin is the intel integrated graphics. First of all, this noise is produced only while using windows (not in ubuntu, where I can only use GTX 950M GPU), specially in the screen that appears when an application needs special permissions, or in applications like Google Chrome. I have updated my Intel drivers too.

But the most strange thing I have discovered recently is: this noise does not show up while the Intel Driver Update Utility or the Intel Graphics HD control panel are running in foreground.

Do you have any idea why is this happening? Any suggestion to solve this problem apart from having Intel Driver Update Utility or the Intel Graphics HD control panel running?

Thank you so much anyway and sorry for my English!
