HD 4000 Driver and Windows 10 Scaling/Rendering Problem

I have recently updated from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. The issue I run into is scaling and rendering in games. The issue is older games contain black bars on both sides of the screen. Before updating to Windows 10 I had no issues and games would stretch to the full screen, which is what I preferred. Below are the specs and steps I have already tried to solve the issue.

Specs

A. Windows 10

B. Intel HD 4000 and NVidia 630M (Intel Driver tried 10.18.10.4242 and 10.18.10.4252 neither would work at displaying full screen in some games) (NVidia Driver 10.18.13.5362 no issues with Nvidia)

C. Samsung Series 5 computer with Intel Core i7

Things I have already tried

A. Tried updating drivers through windows update (Makes no difference)

B. Tried downloading Intel Iris Beta Driver and Installing (Won't let me install, I keep getting different messages a) Driver is not validated for your computer b) Driver does not match specifications c) Tried installing manually with "Let me choose the driver" still can't do it d) Tried the Intel Driver Utility (It finds no drivers on each scan).

C. Went to graphic properties menu and mess with settings. This doesn't work because the choice to "Stretch to Fullscreen" no longer exists. Tried creating a custom resolution but won't let me. The suggested resolution is 1366 x 768.

D. Switch to lower resolution when playing some games that won't stretch chose 1024 x 768. This works but has to be done every single time I want to play a game, then have to switch back to 1366 x 768 when I leave the game. Very very very inconvenient.

E. Tried using SW Update Utility with Samsung. Nothing to update.

The scaling option of "Stretch to Fullscreen" needs to come back into the graphic properties menu. This appears to be an issue with the Driver and Windows 10 for people with HD 4000. Any suggestions are welcome to fix this issue.

Hi.

I have a Lenovo yoga pro2 touch (i74510U - 2ghz - HD 512ssd - RAM 8gb - Windows 8.1 - total memory available 1792 Mb - resolution monitor recommended  3200x1800).

When I open the same image with "windows photo viewer" for example on the 15-inch monitor the result is ok (Windows7)

image 15 inches.PNG

whereas on the my Lenovo from the 13-inch monitor the visualization is very small

image 13 inches.png

On my Lenovo the menu buttons of "windows photo viewer" are also very small from see (see rectangles highlighted in red). I tried to change all the settings the user side at my disposal, but the problem persists.

Same thing on the graphics program PAINT.NET. All the menu bars, commands, icons, etc, are displayed very small.

You need to make some changes advanced on the card 4400?

Can you help me?

Thanks

The issue is vsync not working with dx11 games on Windows 10. Tried FIFA15 and GTAV: lots of screen tearing and vsync not running. I got an optimus laptop so tought it was a nvidia related problem, but no it's about intel drivers (Disabled the nvidia card tried the to play with intel, and same issues). I don't know how but somehow intel driver messing with the nvidia settings too. The problem is gone if I install the 8.1 driver 3316, but Windows update keeps installing the newer driver.

Can't get displayport to output audio to HDMI (Q45/Q43 Express Chipset)

I would like to know if this chipset supports audio output to HDMI. I have not been able to get it to work with the TV in our Conference Room. We're running this on a Dell Optiplex 780 with Express Chipset Q45/Q43 and I'm using a DisplayPort-to-HDMI cable. You can see the exact cable (not that I think it matters) in the following link. Amazon.com: Cable Matters® Gold Plated DisplayPort to HDMI Cable 6 Feet: Electronics

So far the picture is perfect. but I just can't seem to get Windows 7 32-bit (all updates/ServicePacks installed) to recognize the TV's speakers as an available audio output device. I used Intel's Driver Update Utility 2.0 to ensure that it was on the latest version (according to windows, it's 8.15.10.2869 but Intel might have a different version indentification scheme because it had origianlly told me 15.something; I've seen that more than once)

I don't see the HDMI speakers in my available output devices. I know I can use an audio cable to the TV but I would prefer not to do that so I can keep the wires tidy. I will do it if I have to but only as a last resort.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction or at least tell me if this chipset is capable of sending audio through its display port.

Thanks,

BirdLaw

I have a Lenovo M30-70 with HD 4400 on Windows 10 with latest drivers. I connected my LG 29UM65 monitor (2560x1080) and the graphic card does not recognize it. It's not like that it displays a wrong resolution, it just doesn't recosgnize the monitor.

I tested it with another monitor and it works perfectly. The LG29UM65 also works well on another laptop with Windows 7 just not on Lenovo M30-70 with Windows 10. How can I fix this?

I have the Intel R HD graphics 3000 on Windows 10, and it worked just fine on Windows 7 and I tested everything on my moms Windows 8 laptop, my dual screen worked just fine. Now it won't even detect the screen, and everyone keeps saying it's the driver that is causing it. Any help?

My computer has the HDMI input and my second monitor has a VGA output, and the adapter works fine as it works on all my other computers/laptops.

Why my Intel HD 4400 refuse new updates?

Hi, i'm a new user of this fantastic community ^^ I have an ASUS laptop (X554L) with i3 4030U and Intel HD 4400 on-board, Windows 10 x64 installed. I can't update the 4400! Every time i use the Intel HD Update Utility or the classic Windows Update service i can't get over the basic 10.18.15.4248 driver.
Is the only driver that can be installed on this particular laptop config? Or can i install the lastestpackage (v15... for Win10 x64) manually without any risk for the system?

Buffer overrun detected! when starting Call of Duty (1.0)

Hello Intel,

I have an Intel i5 3210M CPU with an Intel HD 4000 graphics core. Since driver version 15.33.22.64.3621 (published ~May 2014) the game crashes shortly after starting CoDSP.exe (Singel Player) or CoDMP.exe (Multiplayer). So the game tries to start up and immediately crashes (black screen, Windows error sound, "hidden" error message):

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Program: .......(path)\Call of Duty\CoDSP.exe

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated."

CoD2.png

Google told me that I'm not the only one with the same problem:

Call of Duty 1 Buffer Overrun Detected - Steam Users' Forums

Re: Latest version of intel iris pro drivers causes buffer overrun with Call of Duty 1?

Buffer Overrun Error :: Call of Duty General Discussions

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library: Buffer Overrun - Microsoft Community

AMD & Nvidia had also this issue some time ago but they fixed it obviously in their drivers (e.g. Nvidia in v195.39, see changelog).

I tested a lot things which might help you to solve this problem:

1) All drivers since 15.33.22.64.3621 (inclusiv) cause this issue (also the latest 15.33.35.64.4176 ! )

2) With driver version 15.33.14.64.3412 (and older) the game works flawlessly and therefore doesn't crash.

---> There must have been a change between these two version which causes  these crashes since this point in time.

3) There is a workaround for the problematic driver versions (see SteamCommunity): copying and changing the name of one of the two "game-lauchers" (CoDSP.exe/CoDMP.exe) into "mohaa.exe" solves the problem when a problematic driver version (15.33.22.64.3621 and above) is installed!!! This is quite crazy. Mohaa should stand for the computer game "Medal of Honor: Allied Assault". However when using a random name like abc.exe the game crashes again while starting...

---> It looks like renaming the .exe's to mohaa.exe forces the driver to use an internal driver profile (created by Intel for MoHAA), which is obviously also compatible with Call of Duty (1). Therefore this workaround makes it possible to use the latest Intel graphics driver(s) with Call of Duty 1. I know, this sounds quite crazy...but it is like that ;-)

Can you please  have a look at this driver issue and change it in the next release? It looks like resolving this issue shouldn't be that complicated for Intel engineers.

PS: I use Windows 7 x64 Professional and the retail version of CoD1 without Steam... but Steam users are probably also bothered (see my links above).

Thank you very much!

Why is my Acer Iconia W510 with Intel GMA 3650 not suitable for Windows 10?

$

I`m faced with a situation that is really strange for me. More than 30 years ago I started my computer realtion with DOS,then MS-DOS, an dlater on all Windows versions. I never experienced more than easily unsolvable compatibility issues due to what I thought, I always used Intel processors and Intel chips on the several generations of mainboards  The lifetime period of my several laptop, notebook, and desktop computers was ~ 6-7 years.

2013 I bought an Acer Iconia W510 (convertible,Atom CPU,GMA3650)

After several weeks of accepting my computer as suitable for Windows 10 the upgrade tool now states that it is not ok for Windows 10 due to the graphic card .

[NB:  Acer considers the computer to be an tablet  with the result that warranty is only 1 year.

This is well done, because since beginnig of this year the touch panel has a defect and I can use the keyboard only :-(  ]

Can this be true? After 2 years only my PC cannot be upgraded to an modern OS version due to graphic compatibiltiy issues.

Is there a technical reason or is it simply too expensive to rewrite the current driver for Windows 10?

For future investments I will take this  and AMD also into account.

Best regards

Rainer

Intel 4400 Graphics Won't Detect 3rd Monitor on DVI

$

Based on another thread I was reading this appears to be a common annoyance. About 4 months ago I built a new system with an ASUS B85 Vanguard motherboard and Intel I3 processor at its core. Originally I was just using an old Lenovo monitor I had, on VGA cable. A few weeks after that I installed a BenQ GW2255 monitor using a DP to VGA adapter to connect to the motherboard's DP port. No problems at all, and I've been using both monitors ever since.

Today I bought another BenQ GW2255 monitor to use as my 3rd screen, utilizing a new DVI cable, and I was expecting an easy install. Unfortunately the Intel driver refused to detect it.

Now if I uninstall the Intel Graphics driver the default Windows driver is able to use both the BenQ monitors, but not all three. And if I reinstall the Intel driver it picks it up perfectly. I can configure and use all three monitors as long as I don't power down the computer or let it sleep. If I do then the new monitor may blip the Windows logo briefly on startup, but then it turns off with a "No Signal" error. Tried getting Windows to auto-update the Intel driver but the same thing just happens again.

Now from reading the thread below, I found that if I disable/enable the driver in Device Manager it will restore functionality, but again only until the computer is restarted. It's a workaround but not one I want to live with for a few years.

Official Black-screen thread - We need your help!

Has there been any progress on these types of errors? I'm running Windows 8.1 64-bit with driver version 10.18.14.4170 at the moment.

Intel Atom and Windows 10

$

I upgraded my Asus VivoTab Smart (which uses the Intel Atom Z2760 processor) from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 on release day (Jul 29), and noticed several issues from the get-go, namely the lack of brightness control and the fact that the screen remained backlit while in sleep mode, sucking my tablet's battery dry.  Upon further investigation, it appears that Intel has not released drivers for Windows 10 yet for this chipset, and my woes are caused by improper graphics card drivers.

Intel, this chip isn't *that* old just to abandon it quite yet!

Here's my question: Who else needs Windows 10 drivers for Intel integrated graphics, and Intel, why haven't you released them yet?

Get busy please!
