"Blurry" Monitor via HDMI

$

0

Hi everyone

I'm having an issue with my monitor when using HDMI. Everything is blurry, pixelated or whatever, as shown in the picutre.

I always had this problem with this monitor (which is actually a TV), but with my old PC (with ATI graphics) I was able to solve it: if I remember well, I changed something about the pixel format or color.

I am on a laptop, with an i7 5500u and a GeForce 940m. I read that the dedicated GPU is only used for heavy processing, so I can't use the NVIDIA drivers to solve this (or can I?).

Intel Graphics Control Panel seems pretty basic, and I didn't find a way to change pixels parameters.

My monitor via HDMI (blurry)IMG_6485.JPG

Onboard monitor (works well; for comparison)  IMG_6486.JPG

Does anybody know how can I solve this? My Monitor/TV doesn't have any options for the HDMI input.

I apologize for any grammar or spelling mistakes. English is not my first language.

EDIT: now that I posted it, I see that there isn't much difference between both pictures, but texts, color contrasts, etc. look blurry and pixelated.

Windows 10 Driver for Clarkdale (Intel Core i3 530)

I have a desktop PC with a Clarkdale processor. (Old, I know but it serves its purpose.) I recently upgraded it to Windows 10 and it's been having BSOD episodes. I visited Microsoft TechNet and was advised to use the driver verifier, which revealed that the graphics driver is causing the BSODs. The computer is using the driver provided by Microsoft, which is hopelessly out of date. Obviously it's not a Windows 10 driver.

When I originally installed Windows 10, I tried to find a newer driver, but I was not successful. I thought I would leave well alone. However, the driver is causing problems so I need to update it. Please advise where I can get a newer driver.

HD4400 chip suddenly doesnt support UHD resolution on external device anymore

Hello,

I have a Lenovo T440 laptop with an Intel HD4400 chip. The laptop has a mini display-port connection which I used to attach an UHD TV via HDMI (DP to HDMI converter cable). It worked very well and the laptop was able to play UHD material with MPC-HC and madVR. I was fiddling around with the settings to get better results (switching to intel quicksync instead of DXVA2 etc.)

At some point the video driver crashed and I decided to reboot the machine. After the reboot was done, the UHD television resolution switched to 1080p and windows/intel control panel claim that this is the maximum supported resolution. Obviously this isn't correct as I have just used its UHD resolution.

I dont know what to do to fix this...

It is not the TV, because I am still using it in UHD mode with my desktop computer.

It is not the HDMI cable, because it works fine between my desktop and the TV.

It is not the miniDP to HDMI converter or the miniDP port, because when I reboot my device to Debian/Linux I can still use the UHD resolution.

I can only think of the intel driver or windows, which are somehow loading the wrong settings for the device.

I've removed the intel driver via DDU already and reinstalled the newest version, no dice.

N3700 CPU...will it support dual-monitors?

Hello -

Just bought a Dell Inspiron 3252...it has a N3700 Pentium CPU and an HD integrated Graphics card.  It has a HDMI port and a VGA port.  Will it support dual monitors?

Thanks,

Triple display only works when external monitors are connected in a specific order

$

I've posted something similar recently, but I just wanted to consolidate into one post.

Basically, triple display only works when the first monitor is connected to the laptop's built-in hdmi port first, then the 2nd monitor is connected to the  usb-c-hdmi2.0 adapter.

Any other order, any other configuration involving displayport, will not work.

There's only one way you can get laptop screen + 4k@60hz + 4k@30hz triple display.

Here are my video demos---------

triple display on hdmi ports success - YouTube

triple display fail on hdmi ports. - YouTube

triple display attempt on hdmi and displayport fails #1 - YouTube

triple display attempt on hdmi and displayport fails #2 - YouTube

Dual display works in any configuration.

I bought 3 different adapters to try.

I used a usb-c hdmi adapter made by Kanex which supports 1080p@60hz and 4k@30hz, and set all screens to 1080p.

If the Kanex usb-c adapter is plugged in first, followed by the built-in hdmi port, triple display will not run.

If you reverse the order and plug in the built-in hdmi port first, followed by the Kanex usb-c adapter, then triple display will work.

The third usb-c hdmi adapter is made by Cellet, and it supports 4k@30hz. With this adapter, no matter what order you plug in the external monitors, the screens will blink every few seconds. In this case, Intel graphics control panel detects all 3 displays, but can't stabilize the configuration and keep it from blinking.

Using Intel HD 2000 Graphics to play Second Life no longer supported, Why?

Why isn't there anymore updates to the drivers so I can still run my game? I been playing this for 3 years and now it will no longer load saying "Firestorm is unable to run because your video card drivers did not install properly, are out of date or unsupported hardware." My driver is up to date and it shown on the list that it won't be updated. Is there anything that can be done about this?

Graphics corruption in Fallout 4 since 1.3 patch

$

Since Fallout 4's 1.3(.47) patch, I (and many, many others) have been experiencing texture issues that make the game unplayable. I have an Iris 5100, but the problem seems to be universal across all Intel GPUs, regardless of hardware.

XztZJmb.jpg

More images are in this gallery here. Basically, the textures stretch and warp, almost always obscuring your view and looking like a mess. It's interesting to note that this does not happen to player/character models, although it's difficult to discern what these textures originally were to begin with. Updating to the latest beta driver does not fix it (although I'd never seen the bright red texture glitch in the gallery before it, so... there's that).

I originally believed this to be a problem combining Apple hardware (I'm using a late-2013 rMBP) with the Intel GPU, which is not officially supported by Bethesda (the game's publisher), but since then I've encountered many people across the internet on other hardware who are encountering the same issue. In fact, there seems to be something about the 1.3 update that screwed up textures for a lot of people with integrated graphics, including those with AMD.

Someone will probably inevitably say that Apple has requested that all issues with their products should be directed through their support, but quite frankly, this doesn't seem like an Apple problem (and the Apple person I talked to agreed with me, saying they can only work to apply fixes within OS X). The game was made by Bethesda, runs solely in a Windows environment, and the common denominator seems to be the Intel GPU. Bethesda is aware of the problem, but are under no obligation to support users of hardware they never offered support to. While I don't know much about driver programming, I feel like this is an issue that will most likely be solved by you at Intel if it is solved at all. You also are under no obligation to solve the problem, and if you can't, no hard feelings (really). This GPU has felt like "the little graphics card that could", given the amount I've put it through, and this is the first game I've encountered that is entirely unplayable because of it.

I unknowingly solved the crashing problems already known by installing ENBoost, a utility that is known to boost performance -- for some reason it completely stops the crashing other Intel users have been experiencing. The game runs just fine on versions 1.1 (release) and 1.2, and I'm continuing to play the game thanks to downgrade patches, but any future content will be unavailable unless the issue is fixed.

I've attached the Intel SSU diagnostics, DxDiag, and DispDiag for reference, but a summary of my system specs is as follows: Macbook Pro Retina, Late-2013, Intel Core i5-4258U CPU @ 2.40GHz, Intel Iris Graphics 5100, 8GB RAM, Windows 10 Pro, graphics driver version 20.19.15.4380 (which I think is the beta driver? don't know what else it would be, since I turned auto-updates off and haven't installed another since). I was previously on the last stable release, which I found to run significantly better than the Apple-provided one that installs during Boot Camp.

Sorry for the info dump, I'm just really interested in helping to figure out a solution if possible. I know this has been posted about a few times as well, hope this isn't a problem as I didn't want to hijack any more threads. If there's anything else I can do to help, please let me know -- I'm hoping I'll be able to get some users not on Apple hardware to post their information as well. Thank you in advance!

Intel HD Graphics 530 driver crashing

$

Hello,

I got a new Asus Windows 10 64-bit laptop that has both Intel HD graphics 530 and nVidia GeForce GTX 960m dedicated graphics. When browsing the web, especially while using Google Images, my computer freezes up for a second, unfreezes, and I get a notifcation saying the Intel HD graphics driver crashed and recovered itself. This happens multiple times per day and there are no driver updates yet from the Asus website as this is a new model of laptop.

I've also had a couple of blue screens due to "VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR" that I believe is related, as it freezes up while browsing the web much like the driver crashes, but then it goes to a black screen for a couple of seconds and then the blue screen.

After the new update released I downloaded and installed it, I tried put my laptop into sleep mode and after pressing power button it still remains blank screen. How do I fix this?? I revert it back to 2015 October update and everything is fine.

Random partial rendering with Microsoft Photo Gallery

$

Hello,

Photo display with Microsoft Photo Gallery is randomly corrupted : when switching photo, part of the previous one can stay on screen, mostly on upper section. It looks like the next photo is not finished rendering before it is sent to display.

The problem appeared with 15.40.12.4326 beta, based on the versions I was able to find:

15.40.04.4256OK
15.40.07.4279OK
15.40.10.4300OK
15.40.12.4326BKO
15.40.14.4352KO
15.40.18.4380BKO

Rolling back to 4300 solves the problem.

Specs :

Intel i5-6600K (Intel HD Graphics 530)

ASUS Z170-A

DVI display

Windows 10 Pro 64

The problem is present with regular operating frequencies (CPU stock and RAM@2133MHz).

Changing the amount of RAM dedicated to video unit changes nothing (tried 32M to 512M).

It has been previously pointed out by posts in this forum, but with different hardware:

See the attached screen shots. Rectangular glitches appear on screen randomly. Most often when switching/alt-tabbing to a new window. Also sometimes when filling text fields or right clicking to pop up the menu in some applications. The glitches disappear when painting over them with the mouse or reloading the page.

The problem started after installing HD Graphics 530 driver 20.19.15.4380. Using earlier drivers, every driver/BIOS combination had the infamous "dark screen, freeze, stopped responding/recovered" -bug, which I was unable to fix. With .4380 the "stopped responding" -bug appears only rarely, but it introduced these glitches. Asus graphics drivers seem to be just older versions of the generic drivers.

Does it fail every single time, or only sometimes?
If you can offer a % rate please do.

Only sometimes, randomly, but over a hundred times per day? I feel like they go in waves, so for a while I get it constantly, then for some time very rarely. They appear more often when switching to/from a webpage in Firefox or application to another, and very rarely when staying in one application or playing a game.

Feature Request - implement EDID override

$

0

Hello,

it would be nice if the Intel Graphics driver would support overriding EDID information like described in this document from Microsoft:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/gg487330

Why is this needed?

In a common HTPC (multimedia PC) setup with a PC, AVR (audio video receiver) and a television, the EDID information stored in the receiver & television that is passed to the PC determines the video and audio capabilities like: supported resolutions, supported audio formats etc ..

The problem is that very often the system only "sees" the EDID information of the television, and not that of the receiver, and so you don't get support for audio formats like DTS, DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD that are supported by the receiver ...

The latest Sandy bridge CPU and corresponding chipset support all these sound standards, but they often not useable cause of these EDID problems.

Actually it really does not matter what video card / integrated graphics you use, NVidia and AMD graphics have the same problem, but their drivers

allows people to override the EDID information like is described in the above linked document from Microsoft.

Please implement this stuff, shouldn't be that hard to do, for one of you senior driver programmers it's probably just a few hours of work ...

Thank you

Christian

Okay so I have this x6420 xfr that I just reinstalled win 7 64 bit, I thought I installed the drivers correctly and everything works except my old favorite screen saver that I have used for years on other desk tops and lap tops.,

The Matrix Trilogy Screensaver

I have crawled all over google hunting some insight and most of this goes past my knowledge,

I have tried updating the graphics both from dell and intel and didn't help, when I am in the screen saver window and click "preview" it doesn't play, if I set it to timer it doesn't play,

I cant help but feel this is on my end and some setting or driver I have messed up,

Can someone please help me out on this,

This is what the screen saver needs to run,

  • Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or compatible
Runs on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8.x and 10.
Version 0.54 runs on Wine and ReactOS.
  • GPU: OpenGL 1.5 support
That is nVidia GeForce2, ATI Radeon 7200 or newer. Drivers must be installed.
  • CPU: Pentium 3 or Athlon XP or later

If you feel my laptop should run this then please help me sort out my mess and get it going,

Many thanks.

B.
