Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus - failed to launch

$

Hello Intel community

I've got some problems regarding Vulkan support in newest drivers (.4815, but I assume it will occur in older too).
Console window said that there is some features missing in Vulkan support and Wolfenstein could not be launched at all.

Is this related to game itself (no Intel GPU support due to low performance, or missing support ATM) or Intel missed something regarding vulkan compatibility?
Or maybe game is looking for something that is not missed by Intel but just unsupported by graphic (due to software or hardware limits).

It would be nice to know what is going on, because as far I remembered I've got no troubles with newest Doom after all.
Both games are using same engine.
Even The Evil Within 2 which is using reworked engine of Doom 2016 running fine (I assume it's pure OpenGL 4.x game).

I'm looking for answer or maybe workaround to launch this game.
It would be nice to hear that Intel already working on launch driver for this game

Hey , there..

Please some one out there from intel , help me out..

I have a Dell laptop Vostro 3446 with an with an Intel HD Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce GT 820M . After installing windows 10 , whenever i install intel hd graphics driver or windows automatically detects and download it, my pc goes to black screen as if graphic driver is unmounted , with a sound that comes when we unmount a device from pc.

System still runs but there is no display.

I almost tried everything , i could . I reinstalled windows and even completely formatted my PC with latest version of windows 10. but every time install intel hd graphic driver system goes to black screen. I have to boot it to Safe mode and uninstall driver, then pc reboots properly but with windows basic display driver which is not good.

Later as soon as pc is connected to network it downloads driver and boom! black screen again.

Believe me i almost tried every thing i could but failed and not able to use my pc from almost 4 months. Even lost my all data in all these process of frustration.

Request you to please give me some advice or solution. It seems the intel driver is not compatible with windows 10.

Please help!

Violent Screen Flickering

So this started happening a few months ago on my HP Stream 11 laptop and I have not been able to find a solution.  My Square Trade extended warranty is about to expire and I would like to use it if this is a hardware problem, otherwise fix it if it is software, driver or setting related.  The Problem: On any browser, if I am streaming content "and only when hardware acceleration is turned on", the entire laptop's screen will intermittently start flickering/flashing, not just the browser but the entire screen.  The screen will work fine for a while, then the flickering will start.  Turning off hardware acceleration and restarting the browser fixes the problem.  Unfortunately turning off hardware acceleration makes streaming video unwatchable because the video then stutters and lags. The Video driver and Graphics Control Panel from HP are current, as well as all Windows drivers and updates.  Here is the exact problem as shown in the video I made here:

The display program that was included with the laptop is:

  1. Use of any Browser results in the same problem.  I mostly use Microsoft Edge because it uses low resources.
  2. Hardware Acceleration in the Browser settings must be turned on.  For Microsoft Edge it needs to be turned on in Internet Explorer for it to be active in Microsoft Edge.
  3. Streaming Video from Xfinity/Comcast (Movies / TV shows).  I have not tried other streaming methods.
  4. Result is Intermittent Screen flashing.

Right Click Freeze Problem

$

0

Hi,

as people with Intel + NVIDIA laptops, we are having a very frustrating issue where our devices get locked for about a second when we right click on desktop or click on the battery icon on system tray.

This video here demonstrates the problem perfectly:

This was recored on a Razer laptop. But the issue can be seen on all brands including ASUS, Acer, Clevo, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, MSI and Razer.

We have tried updating every software possible, but no luck.

  • Intel driver
  • NVIDIA driver
  • Chipset driver
  • BIOS
  • Firmware

The problem can be solved by either disabling Intel GPU or disabling NVIDIA GPU. Both of them is not an option though, as if you disable Intel, not only you will drain the battery faster, but also some games will stop working. If you disable NVIDIA, then what is the point of buying a laptop with a discrete GPU?

There is a also a workaround: configuring a software to always work with NVIDIA in the backgound. This keeps the GTX 1060 alive but also drains battery faster. And there is no poaint in that as it renders Optimus useless!

I have created the same topic on Microsoft forums back in June 30! And so far, Microsoft did nothing about the issue: Intel + NVIDIA Laptop Freeze Problem - Microsoft Community

They also have a support article for an issue like this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/help/4033498/brief-black-screen-at-uac-or-wake-up-on-computers-that-have-two-video

  • 1607, problem.
  • 1703, problem.
  • 1709, problem...
  • RS4, problem goes on...

But today, we have found a solution for the right click issue! It turns out that removing those two entries from the regedit context menu prevents system freeze!

  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\igfxcui
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\igfxDTCM

So, I believe that the battery icon freeze issue is also related to Intel driver.

Please take a look at this problem and provide a solution.

Having rendering glitches when in-game [HD 5000]

$

Hello,

I have a problem with my Intel HD 5000,

I have a moving band going from up to down over and over, causing a bit of flickering, but only when I am in-game (CS:GO).

But there is more, these bands causes glitches so I can see through some walls, through smokes and skyboxes. So it isn't just image defect (Display related issue).

That is literally unplayable, this glitch gets me very uncomfortable, and with the latter it can be considered that the issue gives me unfair advantage (cheating).

- With VSYNC on issue is gone, but I just can't play with it, because I have a noticeable input lag.

- Also, accidentally, I found out that when I change system's speaker volume (on Windows 10), with the volume slider/bar on display the glitch is gone, but then I have an input lag like VSYNC is on.

- I tried out different drivers, nothing has helped, though the first time I had this problem I alt-tabbed (minimized) the game, went to Device manager and rolled back the old driver and it worked. But only till next reboot.

The only rational explanation to me, that my chip, i7-4650u is slowly dying, because I game on MacBook Air that has not the best cooling system.

UHD620 video hardware decoding cause inaccurate color

$

When I watch youtube with chrome, I found that the the color of video was inaccurate, i.e. green being too green, orange being too yellowish etc.. And if I pause the video or move my mouse to make the video control to show up, the color returns to normal. If I disable the hardware acceleration for video in chrome://flags, the color is always normal. So I'm pretty sure that it's the Intel UHD620 videl hardware decoding that causes the inaccurate color. Is there any way to fix this issue? The problem only occurs when video is played in full screen.

Hi, I just updated my Kaby Lake i5-7600 HD 630 to latest graphics driver 15.46.2.1.64.4729

After resuming from sleep my screen just flashes and displays vertical lines. I can't see the desktop just the lines and flashing screen.

I have to power off the machine and reboot to get back into windows.

Seems to be an issue with the latest update as previous driver worked ok.

The Mojang Support website (Basically the Minecraft Support website) recommends that I update my graphics drivers, but when I try doing that using Intel's Driver Utility 2.9, the generic driver it tries to download is always interrupted by an "Unknown Error", which is probably because my computer uses an Intel(R) Q45/Q43 Express Chipset, which is an embedded graphics chip. I don't want to buy a new graphics chip/card, so what do I do?

On Win 10 "Scale Full Screen" option doesn't remains selected

$

Hello,

same driver and same hardware (I attach my SSU result). On a Win7 image we select  "Scale Full Screen" on Intel HD graphics config tool, we launch our 4:3 aspect ratio soft and it works perfectly, scaling to full screen ok. We stop and launch again our soft and perfect, we reboot and launch again and perfect.

On a Win10 image we select  "Scale Full Screen" on Intel HD graphics config tool, we launch our 4:3 soft and it appears small and centered. However we can then go to Intel HD graphics config tool and select "Scale Full Screen" again, and it woks perfectly, fully scaled! But after closing our soft and new launch, it appears small and centered again, every new launch is small and centered, and of course we can't not change settings after every launch or reboot.

It seems that driver, and only on Win10, doesn't stores that the "Scale Full Screen" option has been selected.

I also remember on old driver versions an "Override Application Settings" option, where is it? However on same driver version, but on Win7, this option is also missing but it keeps the "Scale full screen" option properly selected...

It's quite urgent as we would like to use this motherboard as our main commercial hardware for POS, Digital Signage and gambling machine. We have no problems with Win7 but we would like to use Win10 for lower License costs. The only thing wrong for us is this Scale problem.

Thank you.

Broken OpenGL support on Windows 10.

Hi. I'll make it simple.

While several softwares tend to report 2.1 openGL support for the intel series 4 mobile GMA,

precisely the GMA 4500(M)(HD) on a lenovo x200, with the following hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A42&SUBSYS_20E417AA&REV_07 .

A software dedicated to openGL support detection reported this:

report.PNG

general.PNG

Still, some softwares keep crashing cause of openGL issues, and, as a good test, I tried minecraft, which reports the famous "Pixel format not accelerated".

I tried 9 different drivers, cleaned between each attempts, direct X works fine, but OpenGL still don't, often reporting as openGL 1.0 in most softwares.

I know the driver is quite old, but that's just the one I'm actually on. The one W10 originally put, with no dedicated software nor menu on desktop-rightclick wasn't better and reported the same issues.

I'm willing to try everything needed, really, as this computer is a spare one, having to restor it and stuff is not really important, BUT, I just want it to WORK.

I have a graphic media adaptater that rocks freaking 2.1 opengl, I want to freaking use it! That's the least the hardware we buy is supposed to provide, right?

Best Regards~

PS: I perfectly know what kind of framerate and performance I can ask from a 8-9 years old integrated graphics, and won't complain about that, I'm just awaiting to use it to its full little potential on a suprisingly smooth w10!

Intel HD Graphics 4600 flickering and black screens on games and videos.

Greetings,

After the Win 1709 update mi pc is not able to perform how it used to in terms of graphics. In games that previously ran without problems, now there´s flickering with split seconds of black screens and even videos are not being displayed with ease. I supose that there is a problem with the driver after the update, because previously, everything worked great, all the games I played worked flawlessly. My specs are:

Biostar h81mhv3

8gs of RAM

i5-4460

Windows 10Pro

Intel HD Graphics 4600.

I tried reinstalling the driver, looking for new ones, mess with the graphics settings. Can´t find a solution.

I hope that you are able to help me out and not to have to buy a gpu.

Cheers.

USB-C Display PnP not working with Lenovo Yoga 920 (Intel 620 graphics)

$

Hello,

Last month I bought a new Lenovo Yoga 920, which has an i7-8550U w/Intel 620 graphics and 2 USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports.  The laptop is advertised as supporting DisplayPort Alternative Modes over USB-C.

Like many other owners of this laptop (Yoga 920 USB C to HDMI not working - Lenovo Community ), I've found that driving an external display over the UBS-C is very challenging.  This creates real problems as this is a work machine for me and I need to be able to quickly change displays when meeting with clients, etc.

I've tried multiple adapters with external displays and, universally, I find that I an not able to make external displays work in a plug-n-play fashion.  This is with the latest Lenovo provided bios & drivers, and Windows 10 home updates (fall creators).

I'm only able to successfully utilize external displays if I completely shut down the laptop. Unplug and plug-in the display adapter I want to use, make sure the external display is on, and then cold boot the machine.  If I follow this scenario I'm able to consistently utilize various adapters for external displays.  If I unplug the USB-C display adapter after successfully following this procedure, I'm not able to recover the display by plugging the adapter back in and need to reboot again from off in order to regain use of an external display.  This is somewhat less than convenient and not what I would expect from a modern laptop.  There are many individuals experiencing the same problem with this laptop.  General consensus indicates there may be some model-specific driver issues creating this problem.

I wonder if anyone at Intel or in this forum can offer suggestions on what's happening to prevent external display recognition except at boot up and what resolution may entail as the issue has existed for several weeks with lots of discussion on Lenovo's forum with no resolution.

As described in the guidelines for Graphics questions here is further information about the issue and my specific device:

Driver crash during HEVC playback w/DXVA2 (resume)

Hello,

Over in the Kodi forums, many users are reporting an ongoing problem with Intel Graphics drivers for the past 2 years when it comes to playing back HEVC(x265) content on intel graphics hardware in Windows 7 and 10.  This problem is widespread and affects many hardware platforms including the NUC, HD4600, HD5500, i7 6770HQ and likely most others.  This crash happens when attempting to resume a HEVC encoded video file using current drivers on a windows platform with Kodi v15,16,17 and should affect any media player which uses DirectX 11 and up.

One user reports that the issue is linked to the use of "open-gop" parameter used for encoding media files using HEVC (which is default for most encoders).

I'm an IT professional but not in software development, I'd like to help in any way I can but please have a look over at the forum thread linked below for further details.  This will likely affect most of your platforms as HEVC becomes more and more prevalent.  Other players which are unaffected typically use a much older version of Direct X.

Seriously, how to disable the intel batch file {A6D608F0-0BDE-491A-97AE-5C4B05D86E01}.bat

We bought several corporate laptops that came with Intel HD Graphics 520 cards, and downloaded the driver for the cards from here on the intel website. After getting corporate security to assist in the installing of the driver, after rebooting, our corporate protection solution "Bit9" blocks this batch file from running. Each time a user logs in, the bat starts running file C: \ Intel \ GfxCPLBatchFiles \ {A6D608F0-0BDE-491A-97AE-5C4B05D86E01}.bat and they are hit with a security warning notification that an unapproved file was blocked.

How do we disable it? We can not find any reference to the file in the registry, services or startup locations.
