RE: 6-Bit Depth on HD Graphics 620 Driver

Hello,

I've just gotten a new HP Laptop 14 ck-0107TU that has an Intel (R) UHD Graphics 620 card with processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-8130.  Unfortunately, the Bit Depth on this driver is set to 6-Bit, which makes it really hard to look at for long periods of time.

I believe it should be 8-Bit.  I've tried updating the driver, but the latest version of this driver doesn't resolve the issue.

Any suggestions on how to get 8-Bit color depth on this computer?

Thanks!

Lenovo Vantage app updated my Graphics driver on My M700 ThinkCentre,  and now when I lock Windows, when I return, all my open windows move to the primary monitor of my two monitors. Never had this problem before the update.

I looked in device manager at the adapter and rollback driver is greyed, so I can't revert to the previous version

I have the following graphics card Intel HD Graphics 4600 on my laptop, when i try to use element 3d part of After effects from adobe it states that i need to update my OPENGL as certain 3d designing will not work.

On the graphics card details it states i have OPENGL 4.3 and i need to have OPENGL higher than that.

I have tried to see if there is anything the in latest drivers regarding this.

Is there a way to upgrade the OPENGL to 4.5 for this graphics card

Running:

     Asus P10S WS (C236 chipset)

     Corei7 7700 w HD630 Graphics

     Windows 10 x64 LTSB 1607

On this machine the Intel Driver & Support Assistant tool informs me that an update is available for graphics.  It lets me download and launch the install, but towards the end of the install process I get the message "This installation package is not supported by this processor type"

I have seen this thread -NEW- 25.20.100.6444: Intel® Graphics - Windows® 10 DCH Drivers [6th, 7th, 8th, 9th generation, Apollo Lake, Gemini Lake, Amber Lake, and Whiskey Lake]  that version 1607 is NOT included in the supported Windows versions list.  Support apparently starts one version later at 1703.

However, the iDSA tool is telling me that there is an update available.  Is this a false positive?  Information for support on LTSB is a little lacking and I didn't know whether I should expect support for LTSB 1607 or not.

Looking for a mini-computer that supports 4K in a double-screen setup. Look at the Intel® Core ™ i3-8100T processor, I think there is a DP that supports 4K @ 60Hz and optional / optional DP where another screen can be connected?

Monitor Resolution Issue

Hi all,

I have a Latitude 5490 laptop connected to a Dell U2718Q monitor with an HDMI cable.

The laptop is claiming that the max resolution to the monitor is 1366 x 768. I know this cannot possibly be the case.

Can any of you make suggestions of what I can try to get higher resolution on the monitor? I've updated the drivers (Dell drivers) to no avail.

Thanks.

Sporadic SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED on UHD 630

Hi,

I am using driver version 24.20.100.6287 on a UHD 630 graphics card on my Dell XPS 15 model 9570. This is the latest version of the driver put out by Dell. Trying to upgrade to x.x.x.6444 results in a "The driver being installed is not validated for your computer" error. Attempting to manually upgrade the driver from Device Manager results in a "Windows has determined that the best driver for this device is already installed" error.

The system ships with an NVidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti video card. I will attach the "System Information" dumps from both corresponding control panels (Intel and NVidia).

The crash only seems to happen while the laptop is docked. The dock adds 2 external monitors, bringing the total up to 3 (1 laptop panel, 2 external monitors).

The easiest way to reproduce the problem is open GPU-Z (2.15.0 in my case), click on the "Sensors" tab and wait.

I've also got a kernel dump but it is 1.5GB so I cannot attach it here. WinDbg output reports the following:

После обновления драйвера на uwd_win64_25.20.100.6444 перестал отображаться значок контрольной панели в области уведомлений. При нажатии правой кнопкой мыши на рабочем столе свойства Intel графической системы отсутствует. При нажатии Ctrl+Alt+F12 панель открывается, но появляются один за другим таблички "Не удается выполнить действие. Файл не читаем", хотя панель открывается.

Переустановка драйвера с полным удалением предыдущего с помощью Display Driver Uninstaller не помогает.

Intel HD4600 Driver compatibility issue with TCL X3 Tv.

Hey guys, I have a problem.

I have a Fujitsu Esprimo Q920. This computer is working with Tvs and have been using it with a tv as monitor for quite a while.

Now I have purchased a TCL X3 Qled TV.

The problem is that the tv does not display screen when i have the intel graphics driver for the HD4600 installed. There is only black screen and the tv says no HDMI input connected.

If I disable the graphics driver, I get the display. Even if I have a standard display adapter installed, the image is displayed.

These solutions however do not give a proper resolution and the image is a bit choppy.

Any solution to this would be very helpful.

Thanks.

QuickSync functionality broken with DCH driver (25.20.100.6444)

$

0

We noticed that our application is no longer able to use QuickSync hardware acceleration for customers that have upgraded to the new Intel DCH driver.

We have analyzed the problem I will describe the behavioral change in the QuickSync implementation by comparing:

  • The DCH driver: 25.20.100.6444 further referred to as 'DCH'
    with the latest..
  • Non-DCH driver: 25.20.100.6373 further referred to as 'STD'

Differences:

Installed Versions:

  • DCH installs QuickSync/MSDK binaries of version 8.0.0.083
  • STD installs QuickSync/MSDK binaries of version 8.0.0.068

Installation Locations:

  • DCH installs all MSDK  libraries into %PROGRAMFILES%\Intel\Media SDK, %WINDIR%\System32 and %WINDIR%\SysWow64
  • STD installs MSDK  libraries only into %PROGRAMFILES%\Intel\Media SDK

=> Bug #1: DCH does not remove the installed files from %WINDIR%\System32 and %WINDIR%\SysWow64 during uninstallation (via Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall)

The actual showstopping bug is a change of behavior regarding device initialization (=> MFXInit)

For Windows there has always existed a direct correspondence between the mfxIml enum value and the D3D device's adapter number like follows:

mfxImplD3D Device Adapter number
MFX_IMPL_HARDWARE0
MFX_IMPL_HARDWARE21
MFX_IMPL_HARDWARE32
MFX_IMPL_HARDWARE43

With the MSDK libraries version 8.0.0.083 this is no longer true.

I will illustrate the change of behavior with an example:

mfxImplD3D Dev #D3D Device NameMFXInit (8.0.0.068)
MFXInit (8.0.0.083)Note
MFX_IMPL_HARDWARE0NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti - \\.\DISPLAY2MFX_ERR_UNSUPPORTEDMFX_ERR_NONE
MFX_IMPL_HARDWARE21NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti - \\.\DISPLAY1MFX_ERR_UNSUPPORTEDMFX_ERR_UNSUPPORTED
MFX_IMPL_HARDWARE32NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti - \\.\DISPLAY3MFX_ERR_UNSUPPORTEDMFX_ERR_UNSUPPORTED
MFX_IMPL_HARDWARE43Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 - \\.\DISPLAY5MFX_ERR_NONEMFX_ERR_NONE

No error, but doesn't report

the same encoding and decoding

capabilities as with 68 and dev 0

This is obviously a bug. MFXInit succeeds, but as soon as an application tries to create a D3D surface on the GeForce device and tries to use that with QuickSync, everything will fail.

That problem is not only specific to our own application, it also affects the use of QuickSync with ffmpeg - which is officially supported and documented by Intel as usage scenario for QuickSync.

=> This is bug #2:

VLC fast min/max video causes Intel GPU driver to crash

$

I have the following issue, that I can mostly with high chance reproduce, crashing the Intel GPU driver, by quickly min/max a video stream in VLC. I think this needs to be reported mostly at Intel's side, not VLC or MS, because a userspace app like VLC shouldnt be able to crash the video driver even if it was a bug maybe in VLC, right?

Windows show these for the crash:

fheSCWG.png

aZCvDTx.png

I have no other issue anywhere, while gaming, prime95 stability, other media players like MPC, Chrome ect. It just happens with VLC and a fast min/max video action.

A log entry from VLC, when it happens says:

Error code 0x887A0005 seems to mean DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED, which is obviously nonsense. The laptop is a 2 GPU device with Optimus. So this seems to be a driver issue or a Windows bug.

Intel HD630 : Strange/incorrect colors

I just got a brand new laptop, a Clevo p650hp with an intel HD630, and noticed right away that there was a very obvious yellow tint to everything displayed on the monitor. Particularly obvious when compared with my old laptop.

I stumbled onto this thread : Intel HD630 New HDR driver problem on primary monitor which pretty much describes my problem. I tried updating to the latest 25.20.100.6444 intel drivers and it didn't work.

The laptop has a LG Display   LP156WF6-SPK3 monitor by the way.

You can see that the colors are definitely off with the HD630.

Edit : Just tried restarting the laptop in discrete mode (using the GTX 1060 only) and the odd colors are still present so might not be the intel driver that is at fault...)

No Intel HD Graphics 620 Driver for Windows 8.1?

I recently bought a laptop with the new Kaby Lake processor (i7-7500U) and after a brief looking into Intel's website I found out that there is no graphics driver for Intel HD Graphics 620 for Windows 8.1, only for Windows 10. Are we going to see any drivers in the future (7500U has just been released so no drivers for its graphic unit is acceptable) or Intel is not going to release for Windows 8.1?
