Intel HD630 New HDR driver problem on primary monitor

$

Hi

On trying the new HDR driver version 15.60.0.48.49 my primary monitor, being the first one in the Display Port chain (I have two of the same Dell monitors daisy changed by Display Port), seems to have reduced colour depth, which gives very bad posterisation over images and especially anything like skies or graduations.  This affects anything shown on the display, for example the Windows wall paper, photos, images in web browsers.  If I drag the image over to the secondary display, it's all okay, or if I leave straddling both displays, the half on the secondary monitor displays normal, and the primary monitor is bad.

This is on Windows 10 and all the display options are 32 bit by default.

If I revert to driver version 15.47.02.4815 it's all fine again, as it has been on previous graphics drivers.

So this newer driver has definitely a bug somewhere.

Regards

Phil

Is there any information on when the LSPCon function will be incorporated into the UHD630 Graphics Processor? Also, will the UHD630 support both DolbyVision and HDR10+ dynamic HDR?

I have

intel nuc 6i5syk with i5 6260u

mini DP - mini DP and mini DP - DP cables

LG 31mu97 monitor which is 4096 x 2160p.

after installing win10 x 64 the monitor work well with 3840 x 2160 at 64Hz

but after installing iris 540 driver, the monitor shows no signal.

If I turn off monitor's DP1.2 option, the monitor can work with 4096 x 2160 at 30Hz with self-setting resolution.

How can I get it work with 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz? I tried several different versions driver which does not solve the problem.

Thank you

Hi, I just updated my Kaby Lake i5-7600 HD 630 to latest graphics driver 15.46.2.1.64.4729

After resuming from sleep my screen just flashes and displays vertical lines. I can't see the desktop just the lines and flashing screen.

I have to power off the machine and reboot to get back into windows.

Seems to be an issue with the latest update as previous driver worked ok.

UHD620 video hardware decoding cause inaccurate color

$

When I watch youtube with chrome, I found that the the color of video was inaccurate, i.e. green being too green, orange being too yellowish etc.. And if I pause the video or move my mouse to make the video control to show up, the color returns to normal. If I disable the hardware acceleration for video in chrome://flags, the color is always normal. So I'm pretty sure that it's the Intel UHD620 videl hardware decoding that causes the inaccurate color. Is there any way to fix this issue? The problem only occurs when video is played in full screen.

Does x5-z8350 support hardware VP9 decoding?

Hello, I'm looking for information regarding VP9 support on the x5-z8350. Some 3rd party sites claim that it has hardware VP9 decoder, for example:

https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/intel/atom_x5/x5-z8350

while others claim it doesn't.

I bought a PC stick powered by the x5-z8350, and while I am able to smoothly play movies encoded by h264 and h265 - with nearly 0% CPU utilization, when it comes to VP9 (both on YouTube, as well as with offline samples), movie stutters and CPU utilization is near 100%.

So... I would like to finally get 100% confirmed answer - does this CPU support VP9 hardware decoder or not? If it does - do I need some special drivers/codecs to make it work?

Thanks in advance.

Intel Graphics 630: External monitor not detected (mini display port)

$

Hello,

I have a Gigabyte Aero 15 laptop and one of the features of this laptop is that it can connect to 3 external monitors via a HDMI port, mini display port, and thunderbolt 3. I have 2 identical monitors and they both work fine. I'm running a single HDMI from the laptop to 1 monitor and it's perfect. If I connect to monitor 2 the same way, it also works. So in order to use both monitors at the same time, I'm running a mini display port to HDMI cable to my second monitor but nothing happens. Only 1 monitor is detected by my laptop and its the one connected via the HDMI port. The second monitor connected via the mini display port isn't detected at all by my laptop. I've updated all drivers but no luck. I've gone into the nvidia control panel and set the power management mode to "prefer maximum performance" and that didn't work either.

Intel graphics 630 and GTX 1060 drivers are all up to date. Both monitors are in working condition and both work with the single HDMI output. I just can't get my laptop to detect it with the display port...

If I go into my Nvidia Control Panel, I can see 1 monitor connected via HDMI port. If I go into my Intel HD Graphics Control Panel, then Display, Multiple Displays, it shows "Single Display" and its only the Built-in Display. If I click on "Detect", I get the message "No other display has been detected. If you do not see a display, verify all the connections and check that the display is powered on."

So nothing is being detected via mini display port.

Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated!

Bug in Intel Vulkan driver

$

It is currently impossible to use a reverse-z technique with your Vulkan driver as it completely ignores minDepth and maxDepth fields in VkViewport structure.

The driver always defaults to minDepth = 0.0f and maxDepth = 1.0f, even if both fields are set to minDepth = 1.0f and maxDepth = 0.0f, producing wrong depth buffering results.

This technique is mentioned in one of your tutorials:

API without Secrets: Introduction to Vulkan* Part 3: First Triangle | Intel® Software

More info on Khronos pages:

https://www.khronos.org/registry/vulkan/specs/1.0/man/html/VkViewport.html

Drivers affected:

-15.45 and 15.46 on Windows 7 x64 / Windows 10 x64

Hardware used:

-Intel HD 530 (Intel Core i7 6700k)

NVIDIA / AMD hardware works as expected, only Intel is affected.

Monoprice 4k Monitor Stuck at 1280x720

$

Hi all. I recently purchased this 4k monitor https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=27771. I know the 4k works because I used it with my Xbox One S. However, when using the included HDMI 2.0 cable to plug into my computer (integrated graphics (Intel HD-630) through the i7-7700, Gigabyte H270-HD3P, advertised native 4k@60hz), it gets stuck at 1280x720 resolution in the Intel Graphics Control Panel and Windows 10 display settings. I also tried to plug this monitor into a new laptop and got the same result - so it seems to be isolated to the Intel software maybe? Even trying a custom resolution does not work. All my 1920x1080 monitors get recognized correctly by both desktop and laptop, I just can't make the resolution change for this Monoprice monitor. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the graphics driver from the latest version and tried the one specifically from the Gigabyte website. With the Intel graphics driver completely uninstalled, the Microsoft basic graphics driver allows the monitor to be at 1920x1080, but no more. Any guidance would be appreciated. Also attached are my Intel SSU results.

Intel HD Graphics 520 refuses to output 4K... sometimes.

$

Short Description:

I'm connecting my laptop to a 4K display via HDMI. Some of the time, it works fine, but other times, the graphics card/driver defaults to sending 1080p to the monitor, and doesn't display the options for higher resolutions. Does anyone know why this would happen or how to fix it? (Relevant system and monitor specs are included at the end of this message.)

Detailed Description:

As I said, sometimes it works fine, but sometimes I'll plug the monitor in and the graphics card will only send 1080p. When the issue is occurring and I look at the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel, I can see that the driver still knows the maximum resolution of the monitor:

System knows the max res.jpg

but this resolution doesn't appear as an option in the settings drop-down, either within the Intel Control Panel:

1080p is the highest available.jpg

...or in the Windows Control Panel:

1080p is the best the Control Panel can do, too.jpg

When I view the monitor's properties under "Devices" in Windows and "List All Modes", Windows does not seem to know that the monitor is capable of 4K:

List all modes.jpg

I tried setting a custom resolution of 4K for that monitor using the Intel Control Panel, which reluctantly seemed to work (it took a restart, I think), but I suffered a major RAM failure a few days later, which seemed to originate with the graphics card (the first sign of failure was the on-board screen flickering and becoming checkered before the computer became unresponsive). Because of that, I'm concerned that I could be damaging my hardware by setting a custom resolution through the Intel Control Panel, even if I'm setting a resolution that I know should work.

All my drivers are up-to-date, my HDMI 2.0 cable is able to support 4K, and I'm only using my on-board monitor or the external monitor, never both (so no cloning issues).

If this problem were always happening, then I'd try reinstalling Windows or flashing my BIOS, but the fact that it only happens some of the time makes me think that it's not the type of consistent problem that would come from issues at that level.

Does anyone have any clue how to fix this mess? I currently have a 4K monitor that I can't use, so I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks!

Hi,

Since downloading the latest Windows 10 update (mon 27th Nov), our laptop to TV connectivity via HDMI has not been working properly. While the audio works on the TV, the image doesn't (having always worked previously).

I've tested multiple working HDMI cables and that doesnt resolve the issue and I've been through every option on both the 'Windows Display' setting and the 'Intel Graphics' control panel. Must be a setting specific to my TV (Panasonic Viera ET60 series)

I have not idea what to try next.

Please help!!! We watch everything via our laptop!

Is my Intel Graphics 620 compatible with the game "Perfect World"?

$

I have an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7500U CPU @ 2.70GHz. I've been playing a game called Perfect World and have been having issues that nobody else has been having. I am wondering if it's my graphics. The game is filled with many players and they appear invisible to me for the most part, with only their names appearing above their heads. It is the same for my friend and when we are doing a quest together, his avatar comes onto my screen from time to time, then disappears. He tells me that he sees all the players and that nobody is invisible. This happens all the time. The game has its own graphic settings, and the most that I have done is click on the optimize button that simply changes the look of the scenery.

Is my Processor compatible with this game? Andi if so, is the issues that I am having within the game a problem that can be fixed?

Thank you for your time.
